Roccaraso, Italy

January 2004

1
The small town Roccaraso in the mountains some 2 hours east of Rome offers great skiing/snowboarding areas. Here the lower skilifts which start in the middle of town.
2
The best areas are of course as far up as you can get :-)
3
Lovely scenery
4
Very nice pists, with some great offpist opportunities too. For some reason the italians didn't go offpiste here, which gave us lots of pristine snow. Great!
5
One of the upper most hotels
6
Lovely scenery on our way back to Rome
7
One of Rome's many shopping streets, packed with tourists just after New Years Eve.
8
The French church,
Trinità dei Monti (built with a legacy from the French in 1725), which lies at the top of the famous Scalinata Spagna (The Spanish Steps). In the 18th century the most beautiful women and men of Italy gathered here, waiting to be chosen as an artist's model.
